Packaging can accumulate dust and odors if not stored thoughtfully. After removing a doll from its packaging, keep the box or outer carton in a dry place and use it to store the doll’s protective wrapping when not in use. If the original packaging is damaged, substitute with a breathable garment bag or a padded, neutral-colored storage case.
To maintain freshness, insert a moisture-absorbing desiccant or silica gel packet inside the outer container. Replace it every few months or as recommended by the desiccant’s guidelines. Light powdering on interior surfaces can reduce tackiness and help keep plasticizers in check, but avoid over-application to prevent residue on the doll.
Dust protection is essential. Use a soft, breathable cover over the packaging and ensure a gentle lid closure to minimize air exposure. Regularly air out the storage area to prevent musty odors from building up in enclosed spaces. By combining moisture control, careful wrapping, and regular checks, you can keep packaging fresh for longer and preserve the doll’s presentation.
